Sharplin Falls foot bridges
Project brief

We were tasked to build two foot bridges over a stream.

In 2022, we were approached by a client who needed a cost-effective and durable solution for the hiking trail at Sharplin Falls Reserve near Mt Somers in Canterbury. They required two foot bridges to be built over a stream, for hikers to use, which would need to withstand the often-harsh environment in the foothills of the Staverly area.

The Sharplin Falls Foot Bridges were built to ensure that they were safe for the general public, while also being long-lasting. The team at Engineering Repairs used high-quality materials to ensure that the bridges could withstand the harsh environmental conditions of the area. The objective was to ensure that the bridges could support the weight of multiple hikers at once. The team also faced the challenge of building the bridges across streams in rugged terrain and this was successfully achieved in accordance with the structural plans provided by local engineers

As always, Engineering Repairs ensured workmanship was of the highest quality, and safety was paramount throughout the project. Our team implemented strict safety measures, including regular inspections and testing, to ensure that the bridges were safe for the public to use.
