We were asked to design and build a double height cattle ramp at the Five Star Beef site.

Representatives of Anzco Five Star Beef approached us to design and manufacture a double height cattle ramp for their incoming cattle at the Hakatere feed lot.                                                                              Replacing a single height ramp no longer suitable for their requirements.

Discussions were held around the layout and cattle behavioural patterns, which had to be considered in the design process.                                                                                                                                                      The design also had to align with existing yards already in use, with limited space for cattle truck and trailers to maneuver into possition.

Local contractors ACL removed the existing ramp, formed the new foundation, and bored holes for the new ramp legs to be secured in concrete.

Sections of the steel frames were built in our workshop, transported to site, and secured in place.     Once all the sections were secured, the onsite work began to join the sections together and complete the steel structure.                                                                                                                                                        ACL then poured the bottom and top ramp floor in concrete.
